Hazardous materials often pose a very real threat to first responders, who quickly and safely need to understand if it is safe to proceed and what kind of personal protection equipment is needed. Health and safety of the specialists and other personnel is hard to achieve without knowing more about the nature of the chemical threats during stressful situations. Serstech provides Raman instruments that are small and light and easily fit in a pocket or a small bag. Serstech 100 Indicator and Serstech Arx start up quickly and can identify an unknown substance in a matter of seconds.

Large and specialized libraries

Serstech’s libraries are fully verified by our in-house chemists and contain CAS numbers and GHS symbols for all substances, which make the results of a measurement easy to understand and easy to act on, also for non-specialists. Based on the needs of your organization, you can create and share your own customized libraries as well and you can even include your SOP for each substance in your customized libraries.

Rugged and durable instruments

Both Serstech Arx and Serstech 100 Indicator are ruggedized and fullfil the tough requirements of military and first responders. The instruments are compliant with MIL-STD-810G for vibration and chock and are IP67-rated. The instruments have been designed to be quick and easy to decontaminate and the milled aluminium body of the instruments makes them extremely tough, yet very light-weight.

Ease of use and screen readability

Serstech’s instruments have been designed for quick, efficient and easy use. Serstech Arx in addition comes with a single-click scan feature, which allows the user to only click once to get a quick and precise identification of a sample. The results are shown, including CAS number and GHS symbols, in a high-contrast screen that makes the information easy to read also in direct sunlight, in dark rooms and when there is limited visibility due to smoke or mist.

Mixture analysis

Serstech Arx always looks for mixtures by default and pure substances are seen as a special case. Most hazardous materials are impure and/or mixtures of many components, making the mixture-first approach highly valuable. It saves time and it increases the accuracy of the measurement.
